About Jolene Grabill Photography

People often tell me I see things others don’t see and feel things others don’t feel. If that is true, it is a blessing, a blessing I would be honored to employ in the making of beautiful images for you.  To me, a successful image is one that communicates not only the "look" of a moment captured in time, but also what it felt like to "live" that moment.  I strive to capture candid images of life that warm the heart, touch a tender chord, or challenge the spirit.

After starting out as a social worker I then built a successful career in politics and governmental relations. Eventually finding myself wanting more measurable results from my daily pursuits I began a second career in garden design in 2001.  In that work, I like to think of myself as "Mother Nature's Troubadour!"  A 2006 trip to Ireland spurred me to acquire my first digital camera.  While editing the rich textures of the Emerald Isle I fell in love with the art of photography and uncovered a new passion.  Like a moth to a flame, I've been feeding that passion nearly non-stop ever since.

As each day passes I see my work in the natural world and my work in photography merging more and more into one creative force.  Both my photography and my work in garden design are naturalistic...meaning I try to nurture the natural life force that exists rather than enhancing or controlling it artificially.  To bring my images to life, I work in the digital darkroom and employ a wide range of editing tools. I also am available to take your best point and shoot images and digitally enhance them for your enjoyment.

I appreciate you taking time to visit my website and invite you to come back soon!
